Well, Billy successfully made it home from California in one piece. Hannah and Claire came to stay with me the weekend he came home so that made the days go a little faster. Here's a picture of them playing putt putt--look at their hair blowing in the wind!!!We were here for a couple of days after he got back and then that Thursday morning, Billy picked me up and we headed to Sanger where I spent the weekend and Billy left Friday morning at the butt crack of dawn to head to Cincinnati for an o-line coaching conference. The crazy part about the trip was that we took the boys with us b/c we didn't feel right asking my parents to keep them two weeks in a row. Luckily, they were a hit and Maegan and Kodi loved them. Kodi even cried when I left b/c I was taking my puppies with me. The boys were great with the girls, minus the one nip that Boudreaux took out of Kodi's ankle, which gives me hope that if we ever have kids the dogs will be great with them also. Another exciting part of this trip for the dogs was this was their first time to stay in their kennel. At home they sleep in the bed with us or on the floor, wherever they prefer, but not wanting them to tear up Tracy and Tracy's house, we decided they needed a kennel to stay in. They did great with it minus the first night. We made the mistake of giving them bones before we went to bed...well, Boudreaux, as usual, chomped his down and then tried to take Rocky's and that of course caused a ruckus which actually sounded about 40 times worse than it really was b/c of them being in the cage. Friday afternoon I picked the girls up from school and we went home and played our hearts out. This was also the point at which Kodi ran smack into a wall which by Saturday morning had created a big bruise on her forehead. Saturday we went and watched Maegan's soccer game and then went to the zoo. Maegan did great despite the fact that the other team was huge compared to Maegan's team. The league didn't have enough 8-10 year old girls to make teams, so they just combined them with all the smaller girls so now you have 6 year olds who are even kind of small for their age playing against 10 and 11 years olds (b/c of course some have had birthdays since the season started) who are wearing training bras!!! It was crazy. The girls and I had a blast at the zoo and I must say that the $9 they charge for the little buggies at the zoo is the best $9 I have ever spent b/c the girls never complained about their legs being tired and they could get up and walk whenever they wanted to. It was wonderful. The Ft. Worth zoo is definitely worth the trip. The girls would have stayed at the otter house for forever if I would have let them. That was by far their favorite part.
The girls enjoying the shade of the buggy with their cool shades
Such posers!!!! You'd never guess their mom was a photographer!
Wiped out!
She swore she wasn't going to fall asleep on the way home.
Sunday we got up and went to church, then after a trip to Dairy Queen for ice cream I headed to the airport to get Billy. We then went to Abilene where we picked up the boys cousin, Maycee, who is staying with us until my sister gets moved up here b/c she got busted with her in her apt. and dogs are a no-no in her apt. That has been a trip. She is def. still a puppy and it's funny to watch her and Boudreaux play b/c she wears him out which is a new concept for him. Rocky is glad to have her b/c that means he doesn't have to wrestle with his brother!
Just relaxing...
We finally figured out why Boudreaux rides like this...it's b/c the air conditioner is blowing in his face. :)
The train we rode...
One of the shows we went to was a "Legends" show where their impersonated people...these guys were the Temptations and they were FABULOUS!!!!
Billy left his business card with the others!
The huge glasses that they bring out your drinks in.
The crazy rain we drove through to get home...we barely missed a nasty storm outside of Sayre, OK, but thankfully we were able to get past Sayre just before it hit.
