33 Weeks

I don't have a picture yet b/c I haven't felt like taking one this week. I am definitely VERY worn out, but I still have spurts of energy where I get quite a bit done. As far as the nursery goes, we have one crib completely together (minus 2 decorative pieces) and are waiting on the 2nd crib to be delivered. Billy put together their bouncy seats the other night and I sorted through a good chunk of what we got @ our shower. None of it is put up or has a place really @ this point, but I at least have a better idea of what we have.

I go to the doctor this morning and hopefully nothing has changed from last week so that we can just keep trucking on as is. I can't believe that it's getting so close already. My belly has become VERY heavy this week. I can't wait to go get my prenatal massage on Friday morning. I am hoping and praying that it will help with my back and just the overall general soreness.

Billy went to a Daddy Survival Camp this week. They talked about a lot of baby basics, but then also went over developmental milestones, RSV, SIDS, Shaken Baby Syndrome and lots of other cool stuff. My husband, the human file cabinet, of course came home and wanted me to start quizzing him on everything he had learned. It's fun and reassuring to see him finally starting to get really excited about the babies being here. He tells me all the time he's ready for them to be here and to hold them. (I think the biggest part of it is that he's ready for me to be myself again and not the crazy emotional mess I have become :), but he sweetly tries to continue convincing me that it's really all about the babies!!!)

We're hoping that the weather will hold out so that we can do maternity pictures this weekend...I want to get them done before I get too much bigger. If we don't get them done this weekend, then next weekend it is. I'm getting stir crazy being at home by myself all the time. I crave human interaction these days along with ice. I keep trying to convince Billy that we need to get a Sonic ice maker @ the house, but he won't go for it.

I'll update later today after I go to the doctor, and hopefully have a picture or two to put up.

32 Weeks

32 Weeks

This weeks picture is in the freshly painted nursery!!! I'm so excited that we started making progress on it. Having Billy home for just a couple of days made a huge difference in everything we could get done around here...pretty sure that we filled the dumpster out back completely by ourselves in less than 24 hours!!! All that's left in the nursery is to finish the touch ups and stripe the bottom half. Hopefully my sister will be able to do the stripes on Thursday and then we will be finished. She got their dresser finished today and it looks so good. Now we just have to get screws long enough for the drawer pulls and it will be done and I can start putting stuff in it.
(this is what it looks like in the daylight...)

My appointment went good today. I am bummed because I don't get to work anymore until after they get here, which means that I am only going to get to be home with them for 6 weeks, but it will be worth it to have healthy and fat babies. H weighed in @ 4lb 7oz today and B weighed in @ 4lb 4 oz. Billy was of course wound up that she is outweighing her brother right now, but I have a feeling that that won't last for long once they get here. They are still breech and looking @ each other. Dr. D. said everything looks good and is still hopeful that I will make it to 38 weeks. I am still having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions all day long, but the contraction contractions have backed off. Overall, I am just tired a lot, mostly from the insomnia, and I don't have a whole lot of stamina, but I do have spurts where I get energy, so I try to get as much done as I can then...

Billy left today to go to his mom's for a couple of days. He's getting one of the cribs while he is there. As of right now the plan is for him to come home on Friday. Not that I really wanted to ride in the car for 13 hours, but I was sad to see him go and know that I couldn't go with him just because it's been so nice to hang out with him these last couple of days. I had to go to work this morning after my appointment and turn in paperwork and talk to my boss and I have to say, it was a little surreal knowing that I won't be back up there to work until June!!!

Nothing else really very exciting going on here. Just lots of resting with my feet up and taking lots of naps when I get the chance. If anyone wants to come visit, just call me...I'll be here!!! :)

31 Weeks/Baby Shower

This past Sunday was our baby shower. We got tons of really cool stuff and probably my most favorite part was all the books that we got. In the invites the hostesses put this cute little poem about giving us a book with a special note in it instead of a card b/c if you're like me, you don't keep cards, but the books will get used a lot!!

This is a pictures of some of the books that they got, plus their little play mat. Billy of course has been wanting to put everything together already so that we can try everything out, but since we haven't even started their room yet, we're holding off on opening stuff and putting it together.

As you can see from this picture, we got TONS of stuff and have still been getting more stuff in the mail every day. Thankfully we have a storage building where we can put a lot of it, b/c at this point I don't know where else it's going to go!!! The babies got tons of cute clothes/burp rags/blankets and lots of toys.

My hostesses and I...what can I say about these girls...they have made life survivable these last couple of years. We always have a great time when we go out for girls nights out, and they have been great resources to ask all kinds of questions since finding out we were pregnant. And of course, they have all offered to come hold babies once they get here. I am so appreciative of them and the effort that they put in to make my shower so special.

My mom, me, my sister, my Grandma Norma, and Grandma McIntosh...and no I am not wearing anymore of a heel than my sister is...she's just that much shorter than me! :)

The yummy fruit tray...

Hannah's diaper cake and her letters that the girls had made to match her blanket.

Little man's cake and letters...

And the 31 week belly picture. Pardon the look of absolute exhaustion on my face. This was after my shower, and I was totally wiped out. Who would have thought that opening presents would make you so tired, but I was exhausted. I am feeling pretty good these days. Lots of braxton hicks all the time, but so far nothing that hurts or feels like it's actually doing anything. They are moving all over the place. I love laying in the recliner watching my stomach move all over the place as they wiggle around. If all goes as planned (which we all know it probably won't), they will be here April 25th (ish). I'm hoping that I can hang on that long so that I can have a good couple of weeks @ home with them before I have to go back to work.

Spring football is over today!!!!! Woo! Hoo!!!!! I will finally have a husband back for the first time since August...He's on spring break next week, so I am hoping to be able to get a lot of the nursery/rearranging/painting stuff done in the next two weeks or so. He's going to his mom's house to get one of the cribs next weekend, and then hopefully we will be able to get the biggest part of the "nesting" knocked out. I have their coming home outfits almost completely ready. Gotta find a pair of socks for Miss Priss and have to put the "b" on Little Man's onesie and then that is done. I've been surveying everyone this week to find out what I need to put in my hospital bag, and hopefully I'll be able to get that packed in the next week or so. I go back to the doctor on Tuesday and am praying that the appointment goes as smoothly as the last few have.
One huge prayer request is that I would be able to continue working my 2 days a week until the babies get here...every day that I don't work cuts into my maternity leave, so I would like to be able to save as much of it as I can for after they get here.

Well, just heard the washer go off...guess I should go switch out laundry. Have a blessed week.
