We won!!!!! I was so excited that we won. This was a huge game for our guys. They were all (coaches and players alike) frustrated with where they were ranked this year and for them to go out and play as well as they did was great!! I have very little voice today b/c I yelled so long and so loud. I've come to the conclusion that some people just don't need to sit in or near the student section. We have these VERY fun noisemakers called Kazoobees and they are loud...as noisemakers were intended to be. Well, needless to say, there were quite a few people sitting around us who didn't appreciate our noisemakers and finally got up and left. It's a football game people...what do you want me to do, sit in the bleachers like a bump on a log...I don't think so! There was a funny (well sort of) incidence part way through the 3rd quarter. Some South Dakota guy kept popping off to a WT fan and finally the fan had had enough and hauled off a hit him. Needless to say he got arrested and the other guy had to find the first aid station. Boys...some of them never grow up!

South Dakota
Today is the first game of the season!!! I'm so excited. I can't wait. It seems like it's been forever since I last watched a football game. The scrimmages were great, but tonight is the real deal.

Football...
As most of you know football rules the roost at our house. Football takes precedence over everything here. Today the guys have their 2nd preseason scrimmage and I must admit that I am quite excited about it. I don't know a whole lot of girls who get excited about a scrimmage, but I am definitely excited about it. The first game of the season is next Thursday and I can't wait!!! Even though I have a dentist appointment that morning, I still cannot wait for it to be here. It's funny to have a human perspective on what God does. Do you ever think about what he's thinking about watching us? Last night I'm sure he was saying, what the hee haw are those crazy girls up to now. I got to work on gen. pediatrics last night for the first time since we got married and it was so much fun. We laughed SO hard about all kinds of goofy stuff that the rest of the world I am sure did not find near as humorous as we did! :) It's good for me to laugh. I've decided that I haven't done enough of it lately.
Well, I am off to take a bath and shave my legs so that I can wear shorts to the scrimmage and not embarass myself. ta ta for now.

Wednesday...
Today is a good day. Two of our babies that have been with us for an extended time at work get to go home. We have all gotten attached to them, of course, even though we're not supposed to so it was bittersweet to leave work this morning. It's odd to think about going back and those sweet boys not being there, yet I am excited for them that they don't have to put up with us crazy nurses anymore! :)
It's been a good couple of days. I actually got a glimpse of my husband this morning...it's been since Sunday since I actually laid eyes on him so it was nice to see him even if it was only for about 2 minutes.
I realized last night at work that people who have to put the blame for situations on someone no matter what make me crazy!!! Sometimes things just happen and everyone does the best they can and the outcome just isn't good...it's not because someone didn't do their part or try, the Lord simply didn't intend for things to go that way.
Well, I hear my pillow calling my name loud and clear, so I think I am going to go and answer it's request for me to lay my head down.

Don't Die of Shock...
Don't anyone die of shock, but yes, I am actually updating. Thanks to lots of prodding from my dear friends Courtney and Melissa, you are getting another brief glimpse into the Best household. To pick up where I left off, we had a blast in Colorado with all of the other coaches and their wives. We went whitewater rafting again and it was great. Billy and I left a day early so we went and camped out at Red River for a couple of hours and then after the torrential rains and cold temperatures that we were not prepared for, we packed up and went and stayed in Pueblo. The next morning we got up and went into Colorado Springs and toured the Garden of the Gods and looked at Pikes Peak and then we went to the Air Force Academy. We had a lot of fun there and enjoyed getting to look around a ton. That afternoon we went on up to the cabin and spent the rest of the evening hanging out with everyone and then the next day we went to the crazy man's castle and whitewater rafting. I say crazy man b/c he really is. He is totally anti-government. He wants to remove his land from the United States and make it it's own country and he has built this castle (which is beautiful) completely by hand, but it is SO dangerous when you get down to it. There are not handrails anywhere, parts of it shake when you walk through it. It's nuts. After we got done whitewater rafting, we all ate at a park and then most of them went to Cripple Creek to the casino and we went back to the cabin and went fishing. We didn't catch anything, but it was great just to sit there and not do anything. We left early on Sunday to come back and stopped in Channing to visit with the rents for a little bit and pick up Rocky. The next weekend we got to stay home, but we had all the o-line guys over on Saturday for supper. I always love when they come over. It's a blast!!! It cracks me up to watch them eat, b/c they are bottomless pits I swear!! Since then it's pretty much just been work and hanging out at the house and getting to see each other occasionally. The first scrimmage of the year was this past Saturday and it was great to watch football again. I like watching pro, but nothing beats watching college. After the scrimmage, all the full-time coaches from all the sports at WT and their significant others went to a dinner at the president's house. It was a lot of fun and it was amusing to watch some of the other wives, who are not from Texas, and their amazement with the guys cooking meat on pictchforks. We were all sitting at the table talking and they were talking about how at a school in California b/c the traffic is so bad, the coaches sleep in the office from Sunday-Wednesday b/c they don't want to deal with traffic and one of the wives was like, oh no...we would not be doing that. You would be coming home everyday whether you liked it or not and I looked and Billy and said, well, we could handle that babe. I don't get to see you on those days/nights as it is right now, so it wouldn't be any different for us. The first game of the season is on Thursday Aug. 30. I can't wait. I'm so excited. The guys are coming over for dinner again this Friday I think. It should be interesting. Eppie's wedding shower is on Saturday as is Lora's baby shower. Hopefully I'll have a chance to post pictures from those. Until then...
