Texas vs. the Nation...and some random pictures

The boys absolutely love to play in the snow!!! These are a few pictures from the first time it snowed. It's snowed two more times since then and just started snowing again tonight! I'm a little tired of the snow!

This was post playing in the snow...they had worn themselves out!!!

Boudreaux stayed perched on the couch like this for a good hour and a half just watching people driving/sliding up and down the street.

He really is excited to be in the snow even though he doesn't look like it here!

This was the Jeep the first time it snowed. SO thankful that we have 4-wheel drive.

This weekend to celebrate the end of recruiting season and because we were too busy to get together for a Christmas we decided to go to Ruidoso/El Paso for the weekend to play and watch some of our players play in the Texas vs. the Nation game. We all drove up Friday and pretty much just hung out Friday night. Most everyone went to the casino Friday night, but seeing as how I hadn't slept since Thursday afternoon b/c I worked Thur. night, I headed to bed early. Saturday morning Billy and I and Coach Carthel and Miss Cindy headed off for El Paso while everyone else stayed behind and went skiing and sledding. Apparently they got a little wild on the slopes because by the time we got back they were all either in bed, or on their way to bed and it was only 8:15!!! (side note: The people that let us stay in their cabin failed to mention that you can't get in their driveway without 4-wheel drive, and that you have to watch and make sure your vehicle doesn't slide down the driveway even when you have the parking break on!!! It was crazy, and we all at one point or another were either stuck or almost stuck at the bottom of the driveway. ) We had a lot of fun at the game, however, Miss Cindy and I decided that there is no way that we could be press box wives b/c we get to into the game for the people in the press box!! We were lucky and had all-access passes, so we got to spend time down on the field and see our guys before and after they game.

At the cabin there were probably 25 deer that came running and would eat out of you hand anytime you came out the door with bread or crackers. Here's Miss Cindy feeding them.

The fun helmet that the guys go to run out of.

There are several military bases around El Paso and so at the beginning of the game they did a fly over w/ F-22's. It was pretty cool.

J'Marcus is number 73. He played great and hopefully will get invited to the combine.

In true Keithon fashion, he spend almost every defensive series for Texas standing up on the bench watching. I laughed when I looked down the sidelines during the first defensive series and there he was standing up on the bench!! :) We were so excited that both of our guys got to start. Keithon started out the week on the 4th team, so he was really excited to have gotten to start and we were so proud of him.

Here we are w/ both of them after the game. I told J'Marcus that I loved standing next to him b/c he made me feel short and not very many people can do that!

Along w/ the football game, they also do a sort of Texas vs. the Nation w/ cheerleaders and have a cheer camp for middle school and high school squads from west Texas and then they all get to perform at half time of the game. The colleges that were chosen this year were Texas Tech, UTEP, Kansas and Kentucky.
Had to get a picture of their "guns up" pyramids.

And for my favorite friend from Kentucky a picture of the UK cheerleaders!!! ( I have to say, I can see why they won the national cheer championship last year...they were VERY impressive to watch!)

After the game we went to a boot outlet to look for some boots for Billy and of course none of them carried a size 15 so then we headed back. On the way we were stopped at a stop light in El Paso and I looked over and a lady seriously had a sofa, not a love seat, a full sized burgundy leather sofa, tied to the top of her suburban! It was hilarious. We got hungry on the way back so we stopped at the hole in the wall Mexican food place in Alamagordo called Margo's. It wasn't until after we ordered that we realized that they charge 75 cents a basket for chips and hot sauce!!!! Thank goodness their food was amazing and made up for the fact that we had to pay for chips and hot sauce!!!

We got home this afternoon just in time to beat the cold front in. It is now currently sleeting/snowing outside. We are only supposed to get 3 inches tonight, so hopefully they are right and it will clear off tomorrow. Kind of tired of driving in the ice and slush.

Love the picture of the cheerleaders!! GO CATS!!! Yes, they are #1 in Cheerleading and I am HOPING that they will be #1 in Basketball when it is all over. :) My favorite saying these days is "John Wall Yall!"

I have been thinking about you lately! I need to desperately update my blog. Hope to do so soon!!!
