Santa Baby!!!

We took the boys to see Santa on Sunday night. They of course were great and everybody loved them. Boudreaux is doing his typical head cocked to the side...not sure what that's about, but when we took family pictures last weekend he did the same thing in almost all the pictures. The kid makes me laugh! We are once again on our own this week. Thank heavens for wonderful neighbors. They and their kids take great care of the boys when Billy is gone and I am at work. Billy is in Central Texas this week and will be back late Friday night. Nothing else much going on.

I know, I know....

So it's been two months since I updated...shoot me! It's been a crazy two months for sure. Football is in full swing. We have one more regular season game and then the playoffs start. I am searching for new recipes each week to make for our guys. I am thinking though, that I need to be looking for something other than sweets, b/c I always seem to do some tasting ea. Thur/Fri as I am cooking for them.

Billy's family came to visit the first weekend in October. It was really good to see them and we had fun hanging out. Hopefully his sister will get to come into town for the first playoff game. He has already been to Mississippi once to recruit, and will hit the road hard as soon as the season is over.

Work for me has been crazy. We are starting to get busy again. I am kind of getting tired of it though. I am not going to be working as many extra hours this winter as I did last in order to keep myself from getting so burnt out. Instead I am going to start selling Premier Jewelry after the first of the year, so if anyone wants to have a party, let me know and we can get that set up.

The boys are doing good. They were once again tortured with Halloween costumes this year. I still have to upload the picture of them, so it will probably be a little bit before you get to see the picture, but it will be worth the wait.

Not much else exciting going on. Just the same ol same ol. I gotta get off of here and head to Amarillo to the Big Texan so I'll leave you wondering what all my pictures to come will look like!

Yes, I am still alive...

Well, to say that the last two months have been crazy would be an understatement. We moved into our new house on the 3rd of July and it has been wonderful. So far all I have repainted has been the guest bedroom, but on the list are also, my bathroom and the living room/hall. Football season is once again in full swing. I had to stay home for the season opener and although it was rather frustrating, in the long run it will pay off. We won tonight 23-20. Hopefully that's the last close game we have this season, b/c my heart cannot handle too many games like that. For the majority of the game my heart was up in my throat.

Funny story from today...I was sitting in my kitchen at my sewing machine minding my own business, when all of the sudden I found myself in the floor. The chair that I was sitting in collapsed with me in it. Looking back I am quite sure that it was definitely a very funny sight, however, at the time, I was pretty sure that I had ripped a large section of my love handles off and was going to need surgery to stop the bleeding. However, upon closer inspection I found that I wasn't actually bleeding, it just hurt so bad, I thought I should have been bleeding! That's all I have for right now. I'll try to be better about updating.

Oh yeah, if you have little girls (and little boys) and want some cute one of a kind clothes, hollar at me and I will get you hooked up with my mom. Since retiring, she has started an online children's boutique, but I am a terrible daughter, and don't know what the address is for it!

It's Official!!!

It's official!!! We close on July 3. I can't believe it's less than a week away. As with everything in our lives it seems like, this has snuck up on us. I will post pictures as soon as we close. I haven't taken any yet b/c I feel weird taking pictures of a house filled with someone else's things. Hopefully all will go well and we will be completely in in time to get to sleep at a decent hour on Thursday. Thanks for all the prayers as we embark up on a new leg in our journey called life.

Our House

So we signed a contract on a house last night. If all goes well we will close July 1. Now we're just praying that everything goes well with the inspection on Thursday.

Branson (and a bunch of other stuff)

Well, Billy successfully made it home from California in one piece. Hannah and Claire came to stay with me the weekend he came home so that made the days go a little faster. Here's a picture of them playing putt putt--look at their hair blowing in the wind!!!We were here for a couple of days after he got back and then that Thursday morning, Billy picked me up and we headed to Sanger where I spent the weekend and Billy left Friday morning at the butt crack of dawn to head to Cincinnati for an o-line coaching conference. The crazy part about the trip was that we took the boys with us b/c we didn't feel right asking my parents to keep them two weeks in a row. Luckily, they were a hit and Maegan and Kodi loved them. Kodi even cried when I left b/c I was taking my puppies with me. The boys were great with the girls, minus the one nip that Boudreaux took out of Kodi's ankle, which gives me hope that if we ever have kids the dogs will be great with them also. Another exciting part of this trip for the dogs was this was their first time to stay in their kennel. At home they sleep in the bed with us or on the floor, wherever they prefer, but not wanting them to tear up Tracy and Tracy's house, we decided they needed a kennel to stay in. They did great with it minus the first night. We made the mistake of giving them bones before we went to bed...well, Boudreaux, as usual, chomped his down and then tried to take Rocky's and that of course caused a ruckus which actually sounded about 40 times worse than it really was b/c of them being in the cage. Friday afternoon I picked the girls up from school and we went home and played our hearts out. This was also the point at which Kodi ran smack into a wall which by Saturday morning had created a big bruise on her forehead. Saturday we went and watched Maegan's soccer game and then went to the zoo. Maegan did great despite the fact that the other team was huge compared to Maegan's team. The league didn't have enough 8-10 year old girls to make teams, so they just combined them with all the smaller girls so now you have 6 year olds who are even kind of small for their age playing against 10 and 11 years olds (b/c of course some have had birthdays since the season started) who are wearing training bras!!! It was crazy. The girls and I had a blast at the zoo and I must say that the $9 they charge for the little buggies at the zoo is the best $9 I have ever spent b/c the girls never complained about their legs being tired and they could get up and walk whenever they wanted to. It was wonderful. The Ft. Worth zoo is definitely worth the trip. The girls would have stayed at the otter house for forever if I would have let them. That was by far their favorite part.

The girls enjoying the shade of the buggy with their cool shades

Such posers!!!! You'd never guess their mom was a photographer!

Wiped out!

She swore she wasn't going to fall asleep on the way home.

Once we got back from the zoo it was decided that we would make a trip to Babe's to eat dinner since I had never been. It was a blast. The smoked chicken is out of this world and watching the girls out perform the waitresses doing the hokey pokey was great. (and it wasn't b/c the waitresses weren't trying either!!!) The video above doesn't do their hokey pokey skills justice!
Outside playing with the boys before church

There are two girls under there somewhere...promise!!!

Sunday we got up and went to church, then after a trip to Dairy Queen for ice cream I headed to the airport to get Billy. We then went to Abilene where we picked up the boys cousin, Maycee, who is staying with us until my sister gets moved up here b/c she got busted with her in her apt. and dogs are a no-no in her apt. That has been a trip. She is def. still a puppy and it's funny to watch her and Boudreaux play b/c she wears him out which is a new concept for him. Rocky is glad to have her b/c that means he doesn't have to wrestle with his brother!
Miss Maycee in her little shirt!

Just relaxing...

We finally figured out why Boudreaux rides like this...it's b/c the air conditioner is blowing in his face. :)

We were home for a couple of days and then took off to Branson for the weekend as our anniversary trip. We had a blast, even though we were the youngest people there, and will definitely be going back again at some point. Both of the shows we went to were great and well worth the money. On Monday, we had to stop at Lambert's for lunch. If you have never been, if you are close to Springfield or Branson you need to go. It is totally worth the wait...We waited an hour and a half which we never do, but it was great. They throw rolls across the restaurant at you amongst other things. It's a great place. We're home now. With three dogs, one of which only slightly smells like a skunk now...Rocky got a little too friendly with a skunk while he was at mom and dad's this past weekend so he got several baths when we got home!!! I work the next 5 days, but we are going to try and get our furniture finished this weekend in between working and sleeping b/c I may go crazy if we don't!!! Hope all is well and Have a happy weekend.
Billy at the entrance to Silver Dollar City

The train we rode...

One of the shows we went to was a "Legends" show where their impersonated people...these guys were the Temptations and they were FABULOUS!!!!

People sign dollar bills and leave them on the walls at Lamberts--Lord knows how much money is on those walls...they are covered!

This is the roll guy--he had a decent throw and was fairly accurate

Billy left his business card with the others!

The huge glasses that they bring out your drinks in.

The crazy rain we drove through to get home...we barely missed a nasty storm outside of Sayre, OK, but thankfully we were able to get past Sayre just before it hit.

Almost Home!!!

Billy will be back from California the day after tomorrow. I can't wait. It seems like this two weeks has lasted forever. Hannah and Claire are coming to stay with me tomorrow night so that will be fun and then Sunday will fly by with church and getting the girls home in time to come back and get Billy. Then it's off to a fast and furious rest of May. I'm ready for it though. It will be nice to have a couple of days off from work. I love my job, but it has not loved me for awhile now. It has been a rough couple of months and I need a break!!!

Well, I'm gone. Gotta finish cleaning my house before I go to work tonight.

Rain...

I realized yet another way that I am very different from the rest of the working world b/c I work nights. It excites me when the day is going to be dark and dreary, b/c that means that I have some amazing sleeping weather, and everyone at work is jealous of me b/c I am getting to make use of the sleeping weather!!!

On another note I have an amazing husband. I got 12 of the most gorgeous red roses yesterday when I got to work for our anniversary. It was a wonderful surprise and helped ease the bittersweetness of the day since he is half a country away until Sunday.

Life in the Best Household...

We are still alive...barely, but we're breathing. Spring football is over just in time for Billy to leave on Sunday for 2 weeks to go to California to go recruiting. We have had all the guys over once for dinner so far this semester. They hung out and played on the Wii and watched the new TV. They also helped Billy take the top off of my new (it's an '04, but it's new to me) jeep and helped us look for Boudreaux when he decided to take a tour of the town.

We are currently in the process of sanding down all of our dressers so that we can refinish them all the same color. Let's just say it is definitely a work in progress, but we are getting closer to being to a point where we can sand them one final time and then stain them. Once we get that finished we are going to embark upon making a one of a kind head board for our bed. I am super excited about it. Mom and I just got finished with our new bedspread. I forgot what it's like to make linens for a king size bed...definitely a two person job.

Rocky and Boudreaux are great. They both got their shots and check-ups in January and they are healthy as can be. Now if we could just break them of pooping in the house...anyone got any suggestions? They are always good for a laugh.

We had a great time in Colorado over Christmas and also at Billy's mom's for Easter. It was nice to get away for awhile. A little crazy as far as making such long trips in such small amounts of time, but we had a blast.

I can't believe that we've been married almost a year already. I'm kinda bummed b/c Billy will be in California for our anniversary, but he's missed all the other important days this year, so why not make it a clean sweep! :) Just part of being married to a football coach. Wouldn't trade it for the world most days.

Mom and I are making lots of head way on the scrapbooking. I am almost caught up on just random stuff that I already had printed off, which mind you is somewhere around 500 pictures. Still lots more to go, but making progress. I have got to get all of Billy's pictures from football season done, or before I know it next season is going to be here and I am going to be way behind.

I am on a mission to lose weight. I went to a Zumba class this morning at the Town Club and I have to say, that is the most fun I have had in a long time working out. Granted I am a white girl through and through and have no rhythm, but it was still a lot of fun.

We got a Wii and a new flat screen TV with part of our tax return and paid off debt with the rest of it. So far, Tiger Woods golf, bowling, and Guitar Hero are our favorite games. We have had lots of fun with it and it's a fun alternative to going to watch a movie.

I started playing in a Bunko group in January with a bunch of girls from church and a few other random girls. It has been such a blessing and has been so much fun! We are always guaranteed to have lots of laughs and it's been fun to see everyone's competitive side come out.

I guess that's about it. Not a lot has happened, but so much has happened in the last six months. Hopefully I will be better about updating on here. Enjoy!

Our Christmas Tree at work.

Amy hanging decorations at work.

Lilly and Boudreaux hanging out.

Daisy...just chilling

Matt was super excited about his day ballooning! He and Ryan had all kinds of stories to tell.

Some of Billy's guys cramming themselves on my jeep I had had less that 12 hours!!!!

Most of the football wives hanging out at Ruby's one night

Boudreaux hanging out of the Jeep as usual...he always has to wear his seatbelt when the top is off or else he will bail out the side!

Rain...

I remember as a kid knowing in my heart of hearts that when it rained God was crying because something bad had happened. As a 26 year old woman...or at least I like to think I've become a woman...that same thought was extremely comforting to me this morning. We hurt so bad for that precious little family and the rain was a comfort. I'm emotionally spent at this point, not knowing whether I actually have the strength to cry another tear or not. We hung around forever at work, not wanting to leave, but knowing things would be ever so different when we came back. This will be number 7 this year...Lord, when is it going to end? When are our babies going to actually get well? Thank you for the rain Jesus as a reminder that you do hurt with us and your mourn with us.
